Built in 1843 as a starting point for women who wanted to create and establish themselves, this structure existed as a monastery for many years, shaped by silence, discipline, and inner journeys.
Since 1982, it has taken on a new identity, becoming a home for Istanbul's creative spirit; transforming into a broad production space that spans from theaters to independent stages, and from artists to film crews. The traces of ideas, voices, and creation have accumulated on these walls; Anarat has become one of the city's invisible yet defining centers of creation.
Anarat Hotel is an interpretation of Istanbul's multi-layered history that extends into the present day.
